Next February, the NBA’s All-Star Weekend returns to NYC for the first time since 1998.

This marks the fifth time that New York has hosted basketball’s premier mid-season spectacle. Unlike the previous four All-Star experiences, there are now two teams and two glistening venues in the host city.

The newly renovated Madison Square Garden will host the game on Sunday, February 15, while the Barclays Center will be the site of All-Star Saturday on Valentine’s Day.

Brokers are already commanding $4,000 for the entire weekend, while Jay-Z and Queen Bey must navigate the challenge of landing courtside seats on home turf (Brooklyn) and in enemy territory (Manhattan).

Community and fan events will be held in all five boroughs of the city, but like with the Super Bowl, the Javits Center will be unavailable to host the NBA Jam Session due to a previous scheduling conflict.

Looking for synergy? The 1998 NBA All-Star Game was the last for Michael Jordan and the first for Kobe Bryant. Could it be the last for the Lakers legend, or Spurs icon Tim Duncan, who won his first championship at Madison Square Garden?
